Privacy Policy
This privacy policy sets out how Go-Race CVR uses and protects any information that you give while using goracecvr.com
Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
Go-Race CVR may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.
What personal data do we collect and what do we do with it?
When you use one of our forms to sign up to our mailing list we collect your first name and email address. You will receive several introductory emails following sign up, then an email whenever a new article is posted. We may also send you recipe roundup emails profiling existing recipes which are on our website (for example a roundup of Christmas recipes in December). You can expect to receive approximately one email per week.
The country where you signed up is also stored. This enables us to see the demographic of visitors to the website so that we can tailor our content accordingly.
When leaving a comment on our website we collect your name, email address and (optionally) your website address. This enables us to connect to the Gravatar service to pull through your profile picture, and create a hyperlink to your website (see ‘Comments’ section below).
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Where your information is stored
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Personal information provided when leaving a comment is stored on our web servers.
3rd Parties we use which store user data
Your personal information may also be stored on the systems of 3rd parties whose services we use.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to track more details about how our website is being used. We can analyse the IP address, type of browser, date/time, pages visited, amount of clicks, referring pages, exit pages, and other information that is completely anonymous.
Who We Share Your Data With
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
How Long We Retain Your Data For
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
Advertising
Some of our advertisers occasionally serve you cookies as well. We do not have control over cookies placed by advertisers. We use Gourmet Ads as our advertising service to present advertisements on the website. Advertiding vendors may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to serve you advertisements tailored to interests you have shown by browsing on this and other sites you have visited, to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement before and to avoid sending you duplicate advertisements. In doing so, these vendors may collect non-personal data such as your browser type, your operating system, Web pages visited, time of visits, content viewed, ads viewed, and other clickstream data. The use of cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies by these advertising service vendors is subject to their own privacy policies, not ours, and Service Provider disclaims all liability in connection therewith.
Links to other websites
Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
What rights you hold over your data
If you have left comments on this site you can request to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
